Used vehicle specials
Ford’s cash and APR programs cover new vehicles only, so a used special here is a price on one specific car. See what is on the lot today, then find out what your trade is worth.
What a used special is
Retail cash and bonus cash are Ford programs written against new vehicles, and they do not transfer to a used one. A used “rebate” is a price set on that particular vehicle. Financing is a separate question: Ford Credit does publish programs on eligible certified vehicles, and that is covered further down.
- A price reduction on a specific vehicle. The stock number is the offer; when that vehicle sells, the offer is gone.
- A finance rate, set by the lender on your credit and on the vehicle’s age and mileage. An eligible Ford Blue Advantage vehicle may also qualify for a Ford Credit program — ask which apply to the car you are looking at.
- Certification — Ford Blue Advantage — which is not a discount but does change what you are buying.
- Our own reconditioning and what we did to the vehicle before it went on the lot.
Ford Blue Advantage
Ford Blue Advantage has three tiers and they are not interchangeable: the age, mileage and inspection limits differ, and only one of them takes non-Ford vehicles. Certification is part of what you are buying, so it is worth knowing which tier a vehicle carries before you compare it with anything else.
| Tier | Age | Mileage | Inspection | Which vehicles qualify |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gold Certified | Up to 6 years | Under 80,000 | 172 points | Ford models only |
| EV Certified | Up to 6 years | Under 80,000 | 127 points | Ford electric models only |
| Blue Certified | Up to 10 years | Under 150,000 | 139 points | Ford and other makes |
Every Ford Blue Advantage vehicle carries a money-back guarantee: return it to the dealer you bought it from within 14 days or 1,000 miles, whichever comes first, in the condition it was sold in, and they will work with you to find another one. Two things worth knowing before you rely on it — your original trade-in does not come back, and a different vehicle may mean a new credit application. Ford’s own terms, read 11 September 2026.
Financing a used vehicle
Ford’s new-vehicle rate programs do not reach a used car, so the rate comes from the lender and turns on your credit and on the vehicle’s age and mileage. If the vehicle is Ford Blue Advantage certified, a Ford Credit program may apply instead — those change through the year, so ask what is running on the car you want.
Questions
What happens if something goes wrong in the first two weeks?
Illinois requires every dealer to stand behind a used vehicle for 15 days or 500 miles, whichever comes first, on the powertrain — engine, transmission, drive shaft, axle and the parts around them. It does not apply above 150,000 miles, or to a rebuilt or flood title, and anything already known about has to be listed in writing on your paperwork. Ask to see that list before you sign.
Does the Illinois lemon law cover a used car?
No. The lemon law is for new vehicles, inside 12 months or 12,000 miles. What covers a used one is the 15-day powertrain warranty above, whatever is left of the factory warranty, and a Ford Blue Advantage plan if the vehicle is certified. It is worth checking which of the three you have.
Does certification come with a lower rate?
Sometimes. Ford Credit publishes financing programs on eligible Ford Blue Advantage vehicles, and whether one applies comes down to the vehicle, the program running at the time and credit approval — so ask us about the specific car rather than assuming either way. Separately, a lender will often price a newer, lower-mileage vehicle differently regardless of the badge.
Can I put my trade against a used vehicle?
Yes, the same way as on a new one — the trade reduces what you finance. You can get a number on your current vehicle before you come in.
